Live Painting is my favorite!

Live painting at musical events is my passion; whether it’s at a show in a bar, a large concert, a small private music festival with 50 people, or at a large festival with thousands of attendees! I love the dynamic energy that drives spontaneity and creativity in my art. I love when the audience engages with me and gets to witness the multi-sensory engagement of color and sound as my art evolves in real-time. It’s very immersive and meditative for me and has provided me the opportunity to connect with the music community.

My experience ranges from live painting during music, being part of an artist gallery where we share our art and paint on our easels at our stations, as well as serving as the Art Director for events.

See below for details on how I particpate with festivals.

I can also provide a turn-key Art Experience for festivals. Click to more about my Art Director Services.

I have participated in live music events in multiple ways.

  • Live Painter - For small shows at bars or at festivals that don’t have a formal visual arts team, I have live painted near the stage with just my chair, table, and black light. It’s a great addition to the overall experience for attendees

  • Live Painter / Small Art Display - I have participated in smaller festivals where I would live paint as well as set up my art in the music space. It’s a great feature for attendees to investigate/learn about art and this art form during set breaks.

  • Live Painter / Gallery Artist - Many festivals have a formal visual arts team that helps festivals curate a dynamic space where visual art engages festival-goers in an immersive journey that celebrates the intersection of live music and art. In this environment I live paint on “painters row” and am part of the art gallery with the other visual artists.

  • Live Painter / Blacklight Installation - This is the most common way that I participate with larger festivals where there’s space for me to set up my UV blacklight experience tent. It includes a all black EZ UP to darken the space and make the UV art really shine all day/night with multiple box fans that keep the space cool. It’s often a shelter for art lovers during hot summer festivals.

I have 3 configurations that I can set up that includes a 10’x10’, 10’x20’, or 10’x30’ linear or L-shaped configuration. A 30’ long tunnel of art on each side of the tent is a wonderful immersive experience. I provide 3D glasses that make the art come alive! Contact me if you want to discuss an event!
